Welcome home to myself. Through 12 weeks of the Artist Way, I have rediscovered a self I knew long ago; it is nice to have her home. I've made great discoveries into my photographic vision and my medium of choice. I'll keep you posted on when and where my work is displayed. Check back often to view the images I will post here. Through the Blue

New projects on the horizon

I've gone from nothing to do (except be distracted by kids and hubby) from far more than I can actually manage. But I love it that way! I have several new art forms emerging at the moment. I am flush with creativity. I wanted to make mention of the fact that I upload small files of my photos and art to this site. I store higher resolution images on my computer for selling prints. Just thought I'd mention.

Cosmic Dance

Back with breezes in my hair

I sat beneath the wise, old Channing tree today. The soft temperate breezes brushed againt my face and through my hair, as I sat dappled in sun light. I was so thankful to be among the mothers again. One week away from my routine seemed a life time. But I have found enough mental space and pleasantry to renew my spirit. At least through dinner. I sprang to loving myself and my family through the physical care of my home. A well-oiled machine that offers peace. Thank you blessed FLYLady. You have given to me, my very best self and I appreciate you for that.

Happy Easter

Time for another holiday! Time to hang out with family, dye eggs, wear Easter dresses and gorge on too much candy. It's been awhile since I posted either Maya or Ella. So here's a close up, profile of Ella with her beautiful lips!

Community

I just submitted two photo essays to the members art showing at All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church at 30th and Peoria. There will be an opening this Thursday, March 24 at 5:30pm. I saw a few of the other pieces. It should be a very diverse and interesting exhibit. It runs until April sometime.

What a peaceful, reverent day

I am aglow with the love of many a fine mother. A gathering of the most honored of my village assembled today. To celebrate a new life, to inspire one another, and to give some love. We were surrounded by the noise and activity of our progeny. We shared some food and some sunlight. For the mamas that are showing up, and doing it, I honor your grace, your vitality, your strength.

In the moment

I have been in the moment for a good week plus now. I don't mean in the zen spiritual sense that is good for you though I make brief strides to that altitude of thinking. No, I've been in the moment out of necessity. Ella got a little under the weather. Her needs brought me face to face with now, in the moment. Children, especially small children take us there, to the moment. They boil away everything else to its very essence. Their immediate physical needs and the exponential flurry of details you conquer to get there, with kindness, with healing tenderness, are the moment. You have no choice but to handle things. There is no entertainment, no interpersonal drama; there is only the moment. In our need, there is blessing.

Spring Meditations

Things have been hectic lately. But spring continues to inspire me. Fresh flowers and deep blue glass help keep me focused on love, whether it's my home, my family, or myself. I hope you enjoy....

Spring Blossoms

More Spring!!!

Spring, glorious spring. The birds are chirping. Flowers and trees are budding. There is color in the world again! I have been averaging 400 photos a day. I had slowed down during the winter dull gray monotony. I am rejuvenated.

It's been a whole month since I made an entry to this blog. It has been a great month. I've been busy with family and church. I'm doing the Artist's Way. It has been such a positive empowering experience. I've been identifying my goals, my interests, my desires. It is a different route to the peace of FLYLady. In honor of all the FLYLady has done for my life, my happiness, and my family, I am including a still life in blue. Enjoy.
